Task Bar Hero Cube Guide

Cube decisions are early economy decisions before they become late gear decisions. Use this page to decide when to convert, when to hold gear, and when to delay crafting until your party, route, and Rune Tree support the upgrade.

What The Cube Is For Early

SituationDefault actionWhy
Gold pressureConvert weak extras firstWhen gold is the blocker, Cube value comes from cleaning low-value gear into usable economy before expensive crafting.
Build testingKeep role-relevant gearA farming setup, boss-push setup, and sustain-heavy party can value different stats. Do not consume every off-plan item too early.
Inventory cleanupReview before consumingUse item records, hero roles, and gear priority checks before removing equipment that might support another class.
Crafting timingDelay heavy craftingHeavy crafting makes more sense after your Rune Tree, route, and party slots are stable enough to use the upgrade.

Safe Cube Order

  1. Unlock Cube around the early level 4 checkpoint.
  2. Convert obvious low-value extras when gold is limiting progress.
  3. Check item records before consuming gear with unusual rarity, class, or source flags.
  4. Use hero role and build goal to decide whether a stat is worth keeping.
  5. Craft harder only after your party, route, and Rune Tree plan are stable.

Convert, Hold, Craft, Or Review

ActionUse whenAvoid when
ConvertGold is the blocker and the gear is a clear duplicate or weak off-plan piece. The item has unusual rarity, class relevance, market value, or a stat profile you have not compared yet.
HoldThe item could support another hero, a future build, or a market review. You are keeping every low-value item forever and slowing your early economy for no clear reason.
CraftYour route is stable and the upgrade supports a hero or build you are actively testing. You are crafting only because the system is unlocked, before knowing whether the stat improves your current job.
ReviewThe item is high rarity, class-specific, source-restricted, or tied to a marketable category. The piece is obviously weak, common, and unrelated to your current or near-future party.

Backpack Examples

Convert candidate

Low-rarity duplicate weapon

Usually safe to clean up if it is not part of your active hero path.

Hold and compare

Class-relevant gear with useful stats

Check the hero role and gear calculator before consuming it.

Review first

High-rarity gear

High rarity can matter for future builds or market rules, even if it is not useful today.

Do not treat as routine Cube fuel

Soulstone or market-sensitive item

Confirm current market status and item category before making irreversible choices.

Cube And Market Safety

Do not treat every unused item as Cube fuel. Steam Market status, rarity restrictions, and Soulstone handling can change what deserves a second look before conversion or crafting. Use the market page for current status, then return to Cube once the item category is clear.

Cube FAQ

Should I craft as soon as Cube unlocks?

Usually no. Treat Cube as an economy checkpoint first. Heavy crafting is stronger after your party, route, and Rune Tree plan are stable.

What should I convert first?

Start with obvious low-value duplicates and off-plan gear. Do not convert high-rarity, class-relevant, or market-sensitive items before review.

Does Cube replace item records?

No. Cube tells you what you can do with gear; item records help you decide whether the gear should be kept, compared, or consumed.

How does Cube connect to builds?

Cube choices should follow the build job. Farming speed, boss pressure, sustain, and later damage projects can value different stat profiles.
